Memory – Command – Art

BATTLES AND BALLADS

A storytelling company carrying soldiers' lived experiences beyond uniforms and unit lines.

Our purpose

Connecting the frontlines to the fireside, one song, scene, and page at a time.

We make room for the grief in a soldier's story as well as the courage, so that memory can be shared and remembered.

Founded by experience

Lieutenant Colonel Surender Singh

An Indian Army reservist officer who has lived the weight of command and the intimacy of loss. The company grows from that experience, turning the memory of those who served into work that can be heard, watched, and read.

Battles and Ballads exists to keep soldiers' truths intact, honoring both what was won and what was carried home.

Four creative forms

How the stories are carried

Each form gives a soldier's experience a different way to be remembered.

Music that mourns and inspires

Original compositions that hold grief and courage together, written to be sung at a fireside or heard alone.

Theatre that breathes courage

Stage work shaped in rehearsal rooms, bringing lived accounts to audiences with restraint and care.

Films of chaos and quiet

Cinema that captures both the noise of war and the long silences that follow it.

Publishing the soldier's truth

Books, essays, and letters that preserve accounts in print so they outlast the moment they were lived.
